Terms of Use
These terms cover your use of the Unpopular Opinion mobile app. By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you don't agree, please uninstall the app.
1. What the app is
Unpopular Opinion is a party game. It shows short opinion prompts designed to start arguments among friends. The prompts are deliberately provocative and are written for entertainment. They are not statements of our views, advice of any kind, or factual claims.
2. Who can use it
You must be old enough to agree to these terms where you live, and at least old enough for the content rating shown on the app's store listing. Some packs deal with relationships and other mature themes.
3. Content you create
You can write your own cards inside the app. Those cards stay on your device — we never receive them and never publish them. You are responsible for anything you write and for anything you choose to share out of the app using your device's share sheet.
4. AI-generated content
The AI Topic Generator sends the topic word you type to Google's Gemini API and shows you the takes it returns. Because that text is generated by a model rather than written by us:
- It may be wrong, offensive, or simply strange. We don't review it before you see it.
- Every generated take has a report control (the flag icon). Reporting removes it immediately from your session and sends it to us.
- We apply content safety filters to the generator, but no filter catches everything.
5. Purchases and subscriptions
Unpopular Opinion Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription. Several billing periods may be offered. The exact plans available to you, their prices in your local currency, and any free trial are shown on the paywall before you purchase.
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the listed price, until you cancel. If a free trial is offered and you don't cancel before it ends, it converts to a paid subscription.
- All purchases are processed by Google Play. We never see or handle your payment details.
- Cancel a subscription any time from Google Play → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not retroactively refund the current period.
- Cancel at least 24 hours before a renewal date to avoid being charged for the next period.
- Refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policy.
- Restore Purchases on the paywall re-links an existing purchase to a new device, as long as you use the same Google account.
6. What we don't promise
The app is provided as-is. We don't guarantee it will be available without interruption or free of bugs. Community vote percentages depend on our server being reachable; when it isn't, the app shows a local estimate instead.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the app. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain exclusions, in which case those exclusions don't apply to you.
8. Changes
We may update these terms as the app changes. The date at the top shows the most recent revision. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept it.
